So Dan, Dani, Daniel, and Danielle all mean the same. God is my Judge. |
Danielle is not a product of itself. My name is not a single creation, but a additive to Daniel. My name does not possess its own meaning but it inherits it.
This must be why I was named after my father. I inherited this. I have the same initials as him and apparently the same meaning. Daniel Pauli fathered Danielle Pauli.
My father does not have any male children. Nope, he always assumed he could treat me as one. He refers to me as "little D," "danny jr.," or "dani."
My father and I look the same. The same shape face, olive skin tone, slimmer lips, puffy cheeks, all I am missing is the blue eyes and the Winston ultra behind my right ear.
Whenever I do something wrong my mother never fails to respond with, "you're just like your father." I was always a daddy's girl. Now I am Danielle.
I really like how this piece explores the connection between your father's physical features and yours. Also, I like how you compare the similarity in the makeup of your father's name and your name. Short but sweet.
ReplyDeleteI liked this piece but it needs more! I don't really like the ending sentence. Maybe you could end with the penultimate sentence? Also, I think you should definitely expand on your relationship with your father.
